TAMIL LANGUAGE APOSTOLATE
In the midst of our multiracial community, the Tamil-speaking parishioners had formed the Tamil Language Apostolate. This apostolate aims to provide support in line with the vision and mission of the parish with the continuous aim of understanding the needs of the community at a parish level.
The Tamil Language Apostolate’s mission is to reach out to the Tamil-speaking parishioners whose attendance can be seen at the Tamil-speaking Masses.
Their mission consists of:
- To witness and follow their traditional manner of organising Tamil traditional celebrations like Pongal and other Prayer services in the Tamil language.
- To create opportunities to grow spiritually, culturally, and socially whilst being supportive towards the community in times of need by upholding and spreading the Catholic faith to others via the RCIA programme.
- To help coordinate Tamil-speaking Masses with inspiring messages, hymns and thus be blessed together by the Word and Sacraments.
- To organise prayer gatherings at parish, ministerial and BEC levels.
- To organise enrichment programmes and talks focussed on children and the Tamil-speaking youths of the parish with a concentration on the growth and development of these parishioners in regard to the Catholic faith and therefore, nurture the spirit of discipleship as a form of communal solidarity.
